FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority License):

Eating House License:

Health/Trade License:

This license is generated by the local civil authorities like the State’s Municipal Corporation or the Health Department of that area. If you open restaurant in Mumbai, you need to visit their particular site. To complete the process, you need to register your business.

Shop and Establishment Act:

You must register your restaurant under the Shops and Establishment Act. Within a month from the date of the inauguration of your restaurant, you need to register.

Fire Department:

Being a restaurant owner, you must ensure the safety of your customers be it a food safety or be a safety in some critical situation like fire. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) should be obtained before submitting the application. After having all the safety equipment in place, you must request the Chief Fire Officer for inspection and get the NOC. For NOC the department does not charge anything for now.


Lift Clearance:

If you have multi-storey restaurant & you want to install a lift in your multi-storey restaurant, you need to get clearance from an inspector from the electricity department as well as the Labour Commissioner of that specific city.

Liquor License:

In case your restaurant serves liquor, then getting the Liquor License is a necessary. This can be obtained from the Local Excise Commissioner. If you are selling liquor without having this license, you will be charged penalty and can be forced to shut down your business.

 Music License:

Being an owner, you will love to keep the environment chilled with some music, right? Well, your customers going to love it as well. You will have to face legal penalties if you play music in your restaurant without having the said license.

Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC):

The restaurants are not only responsible for the health of customers but also the health of the environment. Make sure that you are not spoiling the environment. Due to this concern, obtaining the certificate of environmental clearance is mandatory.

Signage License:
